I am starting this one off a bit different, by starting with a quote taken out of the Authors’ Note.

We get to know Maven, Delilah’s son by birth, a lawyer with some added layers to him.
And Chime, a woman who knows the hardships of life, and finds a way to come up in life by monetizing her particular skillset.
This story was different, like the author stated, and it was refreshing. I found entertainment and enjoyment in this second chance read about dealing with loss, hidden pregnancy (abortion is mentioned), co-parenting, forgiveness, healing, learning to trust, love and Open door Spice
I’d recommend this read to those who love a second chance read. And are not triggered by the topics mentioned.

These characters are human, they have some flaws, but their relationship is uniquely theirs 🤷🏾♀️… AND..
- Don’t hide your pregnancy
- If it does so happen, say something before doing the horizontal dance
- If you notice that your coping mechanisms don’t work, talk to someone equipped to deal with what you’re dealing with (doesn’t matter how inconsequential you think your issue is)
- Men are lucrative business
- Don’t be a hypocrite
- Communication is key
