Understood series by Mel Dau

After completing my last read, I’m going for a read that will leave me a little bit less stressed out…

I Hope.

Mrs. Mel Dau has released her Understood series, consisting of two books, last month.

• Do You Understand?: The Prelude
• Do You Understand?

My first read by this author was Khiaere and Phy: A Charleston Love Story, (I haven’t stopped reading her works since). What makes me come back to her works each and every time is the way that Mrs. Dau balances heavy life events with laughter and joy.

Over the years she has only gotten better at that, culminating in my favorite book from her pen, up until now because I truly believe she will only get better, Trusting the Dark: Mega’s World.

Back to this series. Understood.

Understood is about Taelyn Smith (the baby girl of the Washington, Christianson, Smith dynasty) and Dr. Draco, previously introduced in Trusting the Dark.

Taelyn has went through a traumatic event, and is now dealing with the after effects of it, PTSD. Dr. Draco is there to support Taelyn on her mental health journey.

Gun violence, PTSD, mental health awareness,  Organized Crime, Government sanctioned crime, they will be hunching.
