I was here last year, and I’m back again. Let me get this quick recap out of the way, so that I can ramble…
Possessed by Mrs. Joonie P. centers Zonima, and her life’s path. We get to know about her relationships (romantic, familial, and platonic), who she is, and about her questionable decisionmaking skills.
This book had me on a rollercoaster ride of emotions, I went from compassion, to a slight side-eye, to Oh no she/they didn’t, to… WITAF? Possessed had me mind blown!
‼️So triggers, yes there are some. Violence, infidelity, and murder being the main ones, add some of the decisions as well, and I think we got them all?
‼️…Nopes I forgot the erotic content as well..😅
I’m writing and posting about it, so YES, I recommend this one. However if what I mentioned triggers or impacts you negatively? Always choose your mental wellbeing.

Introducing the characters
If you expect to pick up this book, and read about some likeable characters? You will be sorely mistaken.
Zonima, the FMC, at the introduction is busy working on her data science degree. Black sheep of the family, absentee father, nonchalant mother, with a golden child older sister.
Dante, the MMC, Director of Research & Development at Robiotics.

Compassion
SheReadsaLot to Audience: Ok, other me was right. I have to tell you about Dante’s Possession… Otherwise you will not understand how in the heck I could feel compassion for Zonima.
Last year Mrs. Joonie P. released Dante’s Possession as her authors’ debut. My review went as follows..
Let me start with prefacing that I read a lot of romance and have a strong dislike for cheaters.
The characters depict everything I resent in my usual romance fare.
The FMC is disloyal, gluttonous, impulsive, shallow and obsessive.
The MMC much of the same, however seems to be a bit less so.
Just nothing to like at all, yet still… and still…
I could not stop reading to know more, and see how this story would and will develop.

SheReadsaLot to Audience: So I knew who Zonima was and I didn’t like her… AT ALL! Now I can continue…
The first 6 chapters we get to know Zonima better, she witnesses the love of her life being gunned down.
SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot: Ma’am…. You are leaving out A LOT!
SheReadsaLot: OKAY… AND? the love of her life being gunned down by her boyfriend, who got home after she finished riding the love of her life are inconsequential details at this point! We need to look at the bigger picture!
Zonima falls into a deep depression. Contributing to it, the circumstances surrounding the traumatic event.
SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot: OF HER OWN MAKING!!!
Zonima decides to apply herself better so she can get her degree, and blow the joint that is her “hometown”. In all this, it becomes apparent the way her parents didn’t show Zonima ANY love. Which really softened my heart towards her.
Bamboozled/Side-Eye
So here I am, just about to finish chapter 6, with all the compassion for Zonima….

Audience to SheReadsaLot: Now who in the Heck is Dan???
So… I didn’t introduce Dan, he is pretty inconsequential as well. He is Zonima’s brother in law. Married to the golden child sister…. Who is pregnant…
OhWell, a lot happened in the few chapters before Zonima goes and reinvents herself. One of them being that my compassion decided to take off to greener pastures.
And my dislike for her started back creeping in.
SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot: Now, don’t you think that he should’ve recused himself as her doctor? Isn’t there a conflict of interest, or something?
SheReadsaLot: Yeah that one was indeed a bit iffy. I mean you know your sister-in-law has some issues. I mean, you have studied the mind… And then coming on to her as well..
SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot: Ma’am I don’t know if I feel bamboozled or if I should side-eye them both? And that darn daddy… And that darn mama.. And… Ma’am there is nobody that didn’t deserve a side-eye… Maybe best friend?
Audience to SheReadsaLot: Now you know that we don’t have a clue about what you are going on about, right?
SheReadsaLot to Audience: Once you pick up this book, you will understand me better. And if you don’t understand at that point, we can always discuss some more about it!
Did She/They just do that?
Zonna starts working for Robiotics as a Data Scientist.
Audience to SheReadsaLot: Now who in the heck is Zonna?
SheReadsaLot: Zonima!
And she is showing out, I mean she is applying herself!
Catches Dante’s eye, who is engaged!
SheReadsaLot to Zonima: I thought you said you were gonna do better?
“My curiosity peaked”

And she acts on her curiosity…. again…
SheReadsaLot to Audience: Now… I do have to give her grace here… Because you know what he did?
Audience to SheReadsaLot: Ma’am you do this each and every time, we haven’t read the book yet… So NO, we don’t know what he did.
Okay, Okay… So.. they went on a work trip, working late at night in his hotel room.
While Zonima is working on the slide deck for the presentation they need to give the following day, Dante takes a shower and gets back in the room wearing…
GREY SWEATPANTS
SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot: Yeah, he was most definitely soliciting Zonima with that one.. smirking and all
A whole lot more happens… which actually had me going back several times to make sure that what I read happened, actually happened.
Because they both had some AUDACITY
WITAF
The last few chapters before the end up until the end of the book, the only words coming out of my mouth were.
Possessed had me mind blown, because I really didn’t see it coming.
Eventhough Possessed doesn’t really leave us hanging with a cliff hanger. I’m really looking forward to the next book in this series. Because this just became something completely different!
