26 by Mrs. Rebekah Christie

This post is going to be a bit different, as I’ve already finished this one. But I still wanted to document it.

As you all know I’m a fiction reader, AND I’m always open to reading outside of my preference (if it’s by a Black author 👀).

So when Mrs. Rebekah Christie asked me if I was willing to try out her poetry, I was open to it.

This was a short read 28 pages, and let me preface this by stating that I only know what I like!

And I liked this one, each piece was so relatable!

Me being a millenial, I could see the younger me in some of Mrs. Christie’s poetry, won’t say which ones as I am older and wiser now…

And my favorite being 26, this line right here?

“To any higher power that will listen This is what I request
Just please just take me off the toughest soldiers list”

Mrs. Christie said a mouthful!!

So a thank you to Mrs. Christie for making me aware of your art!
