My first official read for this week is provided by Mrs. Danielle Allen.
It’s been some years since I picked up one of her books, and now reading Curvy Girl Summer, (book 1 in Mrs. Allen’s Curve series)… I’m sitting over here thinking.
Aaliyah, FMC, has to present a boyfriend at her birthday party, to which her mother invited a stranger as a prospect for marriage, and her uncle made the bet that if she presented a boyfriend, he’d give her a yacht.
I started off aggravated, because I don’t care who you are, how old you are, what your familial relationship to me is. You better talk to me with kindness!
And Aaliyah’s, uncle Al, most certainly didn’t.
But after that hick-up, I have been laughing at Aaliyah’s encounters with her dating prospects, and the banter between her and Ahmad, MMC.
