Review of Are You Going To Love Me by Mrs. Aubree Pynn

“To be honest, I don’t know. I never thought about what I deserved or didn’t. I’ve just been trying to get through life with the least battle scars as possible. But for what it’s worth, I love you without condition. I know that’s not what you meant but I’m okay with knowing that if I don’t ever have anyone, I have you.”

Are You Going to Love Me by Mrs. Aubree Pynn

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
star read

It’s been awhile since I last wrote a standalone review, however at this point in time I’ve read this book, Are You Going to Love Me by Mrs. Aubree Pynn, twice! Once as an ARC, and the other upon release.

And do you know that Mrs. Pynn had THEE audacity of having me stressed out, and in my feelings AGAIN, on the second read? Even with me knowing all that was to occur?

Had me sitting there like…

So here I am…

As you all know, there is somewhat of an order to how we do this things around here. BUT I found out how to link on page, so you get to choose.

  1. Continue reading as is…
  2. See what SheReadsaLot is rambling about this time.

Not doing too much here… In Mrs. Pynn’s latest release we get introduced to Maximus, MMC, and Eden, FMC, both products of Trae Way who end up in the spotlight. The way they get there however is vastly different!

Mrs. Pynn took me through it in all the ways! I was seeing red one moment, to be in my feelings the next, blushing and gushing the other, and laughing out loud in the next. This to me was a well-rounded read, and I bought my trophies from Mrs. Pynn so I can display, and read it again!

‼️Triggers… Mention/Scenes and on-page lude acts, drug use, sexual acts, prostitution, human trafficking, anxiety, depression, an elder person with dementia, betrayal, violence, grief, and trauma.

Recommend?

You already know this, but for those who are new around these parts.

I’m writing and posting about it, took the time out to read this book two times, PAID for a physical copy, and writing a standalone review, so YES, I recommend this one. However if what I mentioned triggers or impacts you negatively? Always choose your mental wellbeing.

SheReadsaLot to Audience:

SheReadsaLot to Audience: Thanks for joining me… If you’re here, you know that there is a possibility for spoilers, even though I will try my hardest not to. AND Mrs. Pynn released Are You Going To Love Me over two weeks ago… So….. Would you like some tea perhaps? It’s delicious…

Re-introducing the characters

SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot: You left out a lot when you were giving the summary up there… don’t you think?

SheReadsaLot: I sure did… And I will do it again…

Maximus, MMC, 27 at introduction, just got home from a bid, to discover his girl is pregnant…

SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot: Mrs. Pynn came out the gate stressing us out!

SheReadsaLot: She sure didn’t hold back!

Eden, FMC, 26 at introduction, taking care of her grandmother with dementia.

SheReadsaLot: Should we share that she was taking care of her grandmother because both of her grandmother’s daughters where trifling?

SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot: Let them find out the way we found out!

They have an encounter…

Life happens, and opportunities present itself…

Four years go by, and they are in different positions in life but somehow find themselves in the same circles, away from Trae Way. One of them on the way up, and the other seemingly on their way down!

Mrs. Pynn took me through it: Stressed

SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot: Did you tell them how happy you were when you received an ARC?

SheReadsaLot:

SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot: And got stressed out while reading the prologue?

SheReadsaLot to Audience: See what had happened was…

Maximus comes home from a short bid, intent on being on the straight and narrow, to some not so loyal people. Thing is… Like always… those who can’t seem to get it on their own, won’t evolve… They will just bring you down!

SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot: Crab in the barrel mentality!

SheReadsaLot: Exactly!

So with Mrs. Pynn’s trigger warning…

SheReadsaLot to Audience: You should really read it before you start, it’s informative and hilarious!

… I just knew that there was some ish about to happen.

SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot: And did it!!

SheReadsaLot: There was betrayal of the worst kind!

SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot: Cousin Faith someone?

SheReadsaLot:

Not only cousin Faith-ing, but also self-sabotage. Because when an opportunity for better is presented? Why wouldn’t you take it?

SheReadsaLot at a certain character:

SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot: Knowing what we know now… Don’t you think that character was right in being hesitant?

SheReadsaLot: Let’s continue on, because I have love for that character, and understand how anxiety can have you spiraling in all the what-ifs, and will have you stuck in the same place you started.

Anger,
We’re building a list and checking it twice

Eden some years later is a popular influencer under the umbrella of who she considers to be her friend.

SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot: Aren’t you going to name her?

SheReadsaLot: Her name is irrelevant, she proved that when she snaked Eden, and let her be mistreated!

SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot:

SheReadsaLot: They both got added to the list however! You know how I am!

SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot: Yes Ma’am, I think everybody knows that you are easily annoyed…

SheReadsaLot: This wasn’t annoyment, I can’t stand people that think it’s okay to take what isn’t freely given, and I really can’t stand those that are okay with it and make excuses for their behavior!

SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot:

SheReadsaLot to Audience: My list grew… A lot… But if you know Mrs. Pynn? You know she’ll deal with them for you!

SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot: Mrs. Pynn dealt with them beautifully didn’t she? Remember Pusha pissy?

SheReadsaLot: I sure do!

I Wanna go outside in the rain
‘Cause I, I think I’m gonna cry

SheReadsaLot to Audience: I’m not going to hold you…

This story had me deep in my feelings! Feeling anger when you’re betrayed is easy!

SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot: Real easy!

SheReadsaLot:

But there is so much more that happens when you are betrayed by those from whom you expect some type of loyalty.

SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot: I mean love from your parents and siblings is not that much to ask… Right?

SheReadsaLot: Family can be complicated… really complicated.

SheReadsaLot to Audience: And the way Mrs. Pynn conveys this, throughout this story?

“…he was supposed to look out for me. Protect me. Not be the motherfucker to put a knife in my back or a fuckin’ bullet.”

Are You Going To Love Me by Mrs. Aubree Pynn

SheReadsaLot:

SheReadsaLot to Audience: Excuse me for a moment, while I go and dry my tears!

.

.

This was one of the parts that really stuck by me, because betrayal should never come at the hands of those that should be your protectors or supporters.

Love,
So many people use your name in vain

SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot: Did you tell them that Mrs. Pynn stresses you out all the time, but somehow you forget that each and every time when you finish a book… and pick up the next one again?

SheReadsaLot to Audience: So maybe I am a bit toxic… Because if I’m not ranting and raving, getting raked over the coals of emotion… Am I really reading?

SheReadsaLot: Thought so! And to be frank, when you read words like these…

“I’m going to always show up for you. No question about it.”

Are You Going To Love Me by Mrs. Aubree Pynn

SheReadsaLot: See them building their relationship up the right way.

“Being heard and understood is the key to great communication. If we start off right and it goes left, we’ll know where we started.”

Are You Going To Love Me by Mrs. Aubree Pynn

SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot: Love! Just jumping of the page, right at you!

SheReadsaLot: I mean, how can you not keep picking up books like these? Books that speak life in to you, books with messages?

“I already prayed over you. You weren’t given this gift for you. You don t hear melodies and words for you. You didn’t fight as hard as you ‘ve had to fight for you. Someone in that crowd needs you. Someone out there needs to hear your voice and see the triumph in every step you take. This wasn’t given to you just to be given to you. This was gifted to you, and you must take care of the gift. You, are right where you belong.”

Are You Going To Love Me by Mrs. Aubree Pynn

SheReadsaLot to Audience: Mrs. Pynn had me swooning at the way Eden and Maximus loved each other. The way they loved each other was healing, and reciprocal.

“We win together, we bounce back together. That’s on Trae Way.”

Are You Going To Love Me by Mrs. Aubree Pynn

SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot: Heard me?

SheReadsaLot: Heard you!
