I’ve been wanting to read Black, book 1 in The Black Series, by Mrs. Joan Vassar for some time now.

And here comes Twin…

Gifting me Black, so that I can finally get to read it.

Black is a Historical Fiction, centering Black. Nat Turner’s son, who following in his father’s footsteps strives and works for freedom of the enslaved. On his journey he meets Sunday.

I am only 16% in, but this read is emotionally charged, suspenseful, and in the makings of a love story.

‼️When we’re talking about freedom, there are always those opposed, and we’re talking about history! So there will be triggers.
