Book-ish Things

I would like to think that I am a structured person.

And then a day like today happens, where I get a very hands on reminder that me and my mind aren’t typical.

SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot: The way you find it difficult to deal with changes to your structure or plans should’ve ring a bell or two…

SheReadsaLot to Audience: Let me tell you about today.

I got up, exhausted! So naturally my first thought was!

*Flashback to SheReadsaLot at 9 am*

And naturally, because I didn’t plan this out thoroughly. I was missing  some things, being:

• a drill
• shelves

SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot: Soooooo…. you didn’t have diddly squad is what I’m hearing?!

SheReadsaLot:

SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot: So what did you have?

SheReadsaLot: Books!! The most important thing!

That little project I decided to start took over my complete day.

SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot: And how did that happen?

I bought a drill, went to measure the spacing for the shelves. bought the shelves, got home to install them….

Only to find out that the drill I purchased wasn’t delivered complete by the manufacturer.

So I had to go back to return it, and buy another one.

When I got back to drill the holes in the wall, I discovered that I didn’t need a regular drill, I needed a hammer drill!

So off to the store I went again in search of a hammer drill.

Finally I had all the things in place, holes were drilled, now for the installation of the shelves.

SheReadsaLot: You know I actually don’t like the color of the shelves!

SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot: You’re right, and the wall seems so plain just painted white like that!

SheReadsaLot: You’re right, let’s buy some things to spruce it up.

I bought some things… And am still not finished. But I’m getting there..

I realized that I don’t have enough shelves, because even though I am primarily an E-Book reader, I’ve been buying a lot of physicals lately.

SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot: And I don’t see you stopping either!

SheReadsaLot:

But I’ll worry about where to place them when they arrive.

As it is for now… the first three shelves (top to bottom) are those I’ve read. The 4th still to be read, and I have the 5th shelf (not pictured) for my coloring books.

SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot: So did you read today?

SheReadsaLot: I read instructions that didn’t make any sense! And was surrounded by books!

SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot: So no current read for today?

SheReadsaLot: Not today, but most probably tomorrow after my week in review!
