Starting off like always by taking out a small amount of time to once again express my appreciation for all the authors that I’ve read this week.

I see your time, efforts, and dedication to your expression of art. And.

Week 4 of 2026! This week has been a week of just trying to keep myself going, even though my mind and body was telling me to rest.

   A buddy read with Twin about the perils of getting home in a world that’s determined to see you fail.
   This read became a favorite for me. The way Mrs. Obey used the life of Sistah Samurai as a metaphor for what Black women go through? Beautiful!
4. Winter’s Heart: Winter and Catori by Mrs. Jackie Chanel, (Black Women’s Fiction, Music Industry, Second Chance)
5. Change of Heart: 15th anniversary edition by Mrs. Jackie Chanel, (Sports Romance, NBA/WNBA, friends to lovers, betrayal)
6. Hold You Down by Mrs. Tracy Brown (New to Me), (Black Women’s Fiction, Urban Fiction)
   This was a read about how systems work, but also about how holding on to what’s comfortable can hold you back. No HEA, triggering content, incarceration, murder, the crack epidemic, sexual assualt.
7. Keyz to her Soul by Mrs. Lanette (New to Me), (Black Women’s Fiction, Romance, Music Industry, Girl group)
8. One Knight’s Stand by Mrs. Tanvier Peart, (Sports Romance, Rugby, Friends to Lovers)
