Week in Review – W6

Starting off like always by taking out a small amount of time to once again express my appreciation for all the authors that I’ve read this week.

I see your time, efforts, and dedication to your expression of art. And.

I’m here, however, this is going to be a brief one. Let’s…

Week Opener

I’m opening this Week in Review with Mrs. Shae SandersMr. and Mrs. Taylor, the follow up to Call Me Mrs. Taylor

SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot: Tell them what they can expect from this read?

SheReadsaLot:

Those who’ve read Call Me Mrs. Taylor are aware that Raya isn’t exactly sane… However, Ace?

Not exactly sane either…

SheReadsaLot to Audience: Now what you should be aware off that this is a dark T-O-X-I-C romance read. Mrs. Sanders notes the following to take note of, profanity, explicit sex, non-con, brief discussion of child abuse, and negativity towards infants and children.

SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot: What stuck with you the most?

SheReadsaLot:

There is so much that stuck with me, but I’ll render it to the one thing that stuck out to me above all!

There is a lid for every pot!

SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot: Recommend?

If you decide to pick this book up, make sure to read Call Me Mrs. Taylor beforehand, and again… These characters aren’t sane!

SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot: And you love them all the more for it, huh!

SheReadsaLot:

I read Mrs. Charity Shané‘s latest release, Collateral Heart.

SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot: Tell them what they can expect from this read?

A read that will pull at your heartstrings, as it deals with parental loss, grief, guilt, and learning to let people be accountable for their own actions.

SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot: What stuck with you the most?

When people aren’t held accountable for their actions, they are doomed to repeat knowing that there are others willing to jump in to save them or experience the brunt of their consequences.

SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot: Do I detect a..

SheReadsaLot:

SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot: Recommend?

I’m posting about it, so yes I do. It’s always a pleasure to me, reading Mrs. Shané’s words… Even if she has me wiping away some tears now and then…

Mrs. Kennedy B. also had a recent release, Lethal Competence.

SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot: Tell them what they can expect from this read?

Two characters who due to their life experiences try and avoid romantic love, until it’s no longer avoidable… Friends to Lovers, and a hidden child.

SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot: You know you want to say something about Pinky…

SheReadsaLot:

SheReadsaLot to Audience: But I won’t!

SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot: What stuck with you the most?

There is such a thing as the right time!

SheReadsaLot to Audience: You’ll understand better once you’ve read this book.

SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot: Recommend?

I’ll keep saying it! I’m posting/writing about it. So it’s a Yes for me! To be frank, I haven’t experienced a book by Mrs. B. yet that I wouldn’t recommend!

Week Closer

I ended my week with Mrs. Kellz Kimberly‘s St. Rowe Saga, centered around the Lewis‘s, and Arne‘s, with a focal point on Monaleigh (FMC) and Divine (MMC).

SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot: Tell them what they can expect from this read?

If you’re like me, expect to feel some frustration with the FMCs…

SheReadsaLot to Audience: You already know that I’m easily annoyed!

SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot: So why the FMCs, and not the MMCs?

SheReadsaLot: The MMCs were honest to a fault, and were actively working on bettering themselves.

SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot: Ma’am, did you forget about D’Aire with that actual chip on his shoulder?

SheReadsaLot: Oh no, I did not! AND he experienced the most growth out of them all… Jodie, Kioni, and Monaleigh have yet to be determined!

SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot: And what about Drew?

SheReadsaLot: For someone who was willing to kill the wife over the D… She turned out alright!

SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot:

SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot: What stuck with you the most?

SheReadsaLot: Ok… So I experienced some frustrations with the FMCs, but I have to say Monaleigh’s gripe with Drew was warranted! And that leads me to my answer

The way she, and those who loved her were expected to be in the same vicinity as the one that intended to harm her, and be cordial…

SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot: Do I detect a hint of another….

SheReadsaLot:

For as grown as I am, I don’t think I’ll ever be grown enough or the bigger person enough to be cordial with someone who has harmed me, wished harm upon me, or intended to harm me. I don’t expect it from other people either!

SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot: Recommend?

I finished the series, and I will be picking up the next book as well, because besides my frustrations… I laughed, I found the characters to be relatable, I got angry, I saw the growth in all of them (even if with some the growth was less obvious), and there was a lot of love. And again! I’m writing/posting about it!

And that is how we’ve come to the end of this Week in Review! We’ll see what next week will bring us.
