Review of The Millionaire Boys Club: Killian by Mrs. Natisha Raynor

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

star read

This read had me thinking a lot. I’ll start off with a recap.

This story is moreso about life than it is romance. So I would be labeling this as literary women’s fiction rather than romance, eventhough it did contain some of the elements of it. Triggers to be aware off are as follows infertility, suicide, divorce, cheating, deceit, stalking, domestic violence, secret baby, and there are vivid descriptions of sexual situations.

I truly enjoyed this read as I usually do Mrs. Raynor’s work, and I would recommend this read to those who are not triggered by what was mentioned previously. Don’t go in expecting a cookie cutter romance, and you will be pleasantly surprised by what you find.

SheReadsaLot to Audience: I’m not gon’ hold you. There will be spoilers 🤷🏾‍♀️ you’ve been warned if you continue after this point

SheReadsaLot to Audience: This was… a lot… my thoughts were are all over the place, so bare with me..

Introducing the Characters

Killian, MMC, bachelor and at time of introduction a cosmetic surgeon

Henley, FMC, at time of introduction single and getting her degree in petroleum engineering

SheReadsaLot: 🥳 Hooray for Main Characters in unusual occupations

Dana, Henley’s sister, at time of introduction, recently single because she found out her fiancé cheated

Brock, Killian’s cousin, at time of introduction on his bachelor celebration together with Killian

Their meeting

They all meet while in Antigua. The sisters there to cheer up Dana, and the Cousins to celebrate Brock’s pending nuptials.

SheReadsaLot:

Things happen…

A man not ready to get married on a bachelor trip without his soon to be spouse, and a woman bitter after being hurt by her fiancé is a recipe for distater.

But let me not go to deep in that.

SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot: Now go on and tell them that both Killian and Henley tried to prevent them from messing things up!

SheReadsaLot to Audience: 😒 Yea.. Both Killian and Henley tried to prevent them from messing things up… But you know how entitled, immature folks can be 😒

For the days that they’re in Antigua Killian and Henley enjoy eachother, and go back to their lives.

SheReadsaLot to Audience: Just kidding 🤭 it’s five years later

Killian is now a well established cosmetic surgeon with his own practice. And still single, but feels his clock ticking.

SheReadsaLot: Now that is different, and he is only 34

Henley graduated, went abroad to start her career, making good money, and has now been happily married to Ethan (44) for some years. Only thing missing (also at 34) is a child of her own.

Brock is happily married

Dana is semi happily married with a kid 👀

SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot: You gon’ tell them about Ethan’s “low” spermcount, and how he approaches Killian for his sperm and a loan?

SheReadsaLot: No I won’t

SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot: You gon’ tell them about Dana’s child? And that she married the cheater after all that?

SheReadsaLot: No

Audience to SheReadsaLot: So what the heck are you gonna be telling us then?

SheReadsaLot to Audience: I told you guys that this read to me wasn’t an actual romantic read. It was moreso about life. So let me delve a bit into that.

You know how people usually tell you to make the right decisions when choosing your partner?

SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot: Yea.. Usually that women pick the wrong men and then be complaining about it. Them f*

This read showcased how people can be very.. very.. very.. deceptive!

From withholding information, covering things up with the help of professionals, making up elaborate lies, and more.

SheReadsaLot to Audience: When I say this I am not solely talking about men, I’m talking about people in general. Because in this read there were three of them Mo*

Tell the offenders about themselves, and watch the gaslighting begin. Because taking accountability for their actions, somehow seems to be a foreign concept.

Making the people who fall victim to this, blame theirselves, and start secondguessing themselves. And in that process, start sabotaging their happiness.

There was a lot of that happening on Henley’s side. I just wanted to hug her, validate, and uplift her.

SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot: Be honest to your audience now.

SheReadsaLot: Yea… So I also wanted to shake her up a bit.. Because how you gon’ let a B*

Henley was so busy following a certain script, that she almost let that man get exactly what he wanted.

Don’t be fooled though Killian was not waiting around pining for Henley when she was figuring things out.

SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot: Acting like he couldn’t use his handTalking about Henley is going to be his wife

SheReadsaLot to Audience: I’mma stop here.. So like I said, “Don’t go in expecting a cookie cutter romance, and you will be pleasantly surprised by what you find.” I’ll see you guys on the next post!
