“Welcome to the best Afro-Fantasy Epic Series… you’ve made an excellent reading choice”
Vampire Uprising Chronicles I – Part I by Mrs Blk Qween
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
star read

You see Mrs. Qween’s words? I’m happy, and thankful to report that she lived up to them!
I had thoughts, and as I am still in search of someone to discuss those thoughts with, I decided to ramble a bit. To get my thoughts out. Let me give you the short recap, so I can get to it.
Vampire Uprising Chronicles I, the first book in an epic 13 book continuation series, starts out following Clarence, the MMC, who has lived a long life and after several long years without a Queen (after the passing of his first one) finds his second Queen, Gabriel, the FMC.
Along the way we get to know Clarence, and the people surrounding him, better.
What I loved about this read was the history, so much ACCURATE history! World building, characters that jump out of the page, and all with distinct voices, they were human. Which means that they were also flawed!
‼️There are a whole lot of triggers in this read being rape (men and women), murder, abuse, infidelity, betrayal, theft and disloyalty. And important to note, it ends with a (slight) cliffhanger/teaser.
Besides the triggers you will also find love, humor, camaraderie, loyalty and a whole lot of spice between the pages of this book.
You all know the drill!
I’m writing and posting about it, so YES, I recommend this one. However if what I mentioned triggers or impacts you negatively? Always choose your mental wellbeing.

SheReadsaLot to Audience: So you decided to stay huh? Since at this point you know how my ramblings can go, and spoilers are a possibility…. I won’t warn you again… Go on ahead…

Reintroducing the characters
Clarence / Pharaoh, the MMC, born during slavery, enslaved, Vampire King, over 190 years of age. Lost his first Queen Safinah to old age as she chose not to become Vampire. A Good Vampire/Man
Gabriel, the FMC, late twenties, human, Clarence’s second Queen.
Niarchos, son of Clarence, became vampire before his 25th birthday, lost the love of his life Liza some years back.
There are a lot of characters in this book, but I will be focusing on these three characters the most, because there was a lot happening in here.
SheReadsaLot to Audience: I’m starting out giving a bit more background on Clarence so I can dive all the way in.
“I’m … a survivor of the Black American holocaust.”
Vampire Uprising Chronicles I: Part I by Mrs. Blk Qween
Clarence is the product of rape from an enslaved Black woman by a white man.
Even though in those times “they” didn’t consider it to be rape. Because how could you possibly rape livestock.
“Thank God he got to a nigger, not any of you fine women Ms. Millie. I cannot arrest him on count of taking advantage of a slave, however he stole a slave which is same as stealing a horse: a punishable crime. Ma’am because he has stolen your property. Do you have the bill of sale on the slave?”
Vampire Uprising Chronicles I: Part I by Mrs. Blk Qween
SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot: Remind your audience!
SheReadsaLot: Thank you for reminding me
SheReadsaLot to Audience: I already alluded to it, but once more. One of the things I particularly appreciated about this read was the historical accuracy. When Mrs. Qween went back in time, she used the vernacular and verbiage of the time, and depicted it accurately. You could truly see the time and dedication invested in the research. Job truly well done Mrs. Qween 🫶🏾👏🏾🙌🏾.
SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot: I told you to remind your audience, not lie to them
SheReadsaLot: I’m not necessarily lying you know.
SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot: Ma’am you were ranting at the injustice of it all!

SheReadsaLot: And I was justified in my reactions, because even now… Years later we see the same thing happening to Black girls and women. Being treated as less than, when “aggressed”, violated and taken advantage of.
SheReadsaLot to Audience: Can you blame me?! Matter fact don’t say nothing… Let’s just continue.
He has never experienced the whip, being protected by the lady of the house.
SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot: Who still treated Black people as less than, went and got her livestock book, because she needed her property back who was the only one who could deal with her ailments as the powerful healer Safinah was.
SheReadsaLot: Inept, unqualified, less than, but couldn’t do *sh without the knowledge and gifts we possess. Still to this day!
SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot: I see you getting a bit worked up over there 👀 continue and let the patient audience know more about Clarence
One night when the “man of the house” goes out to a good ol’ night out of “taking advantage” of the livestock, all the “good” men get taken out during an uprising.
Clarence, being as light skinned as he is, almost meets the same fate, however gets to choose between death or life eternal.
During his life he makes use of his ability to pass, and frees enslaved people by buying them. Offering those who want or need it the same choice that he got presented.

SheReadsaLot to Audience: So now that the stage is set, let us commence. I already told you what I loved about this read, and I can tell you a whole lot about it. However I’ll be keeping this ramble semi-light this go round.
The Good Man Syndrome
“What did I do to deserve a good man like you?”
Vampire Uprising Chronicles I: Part I by Mrs. Blk Qween
Clarence has been dating Gabriel for some time, while concealing his riches, and who/what he is. On the night that he determines he is ready to make Gabriel his Queen, who secretly had been battling cancer, a catastrophic event happens. Leaving Gabriel unable to make a choice.
SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot: I think you should tell them that Gabriel’s choice got taken away because Clarence was dibbling and dabbling before he decided to pursue Gabriel and make her his Queen, and the dibblee decided to go off with Gabriel’s head
SheReadsaLot:

SheReadsaLot to Audience:

SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot: I can’t believe that with all this rambling that you’ve been doing, you haven’t even scratched the surface yet!
SheReadsaLot: Can’t believe it either.
With Gabriel incapacitated, Clarence decides to save her life, she is the new love of his life afterall.

A lot happens, they get married according to vampire law. Everybody congratulates Gabriel because..

SheReadsaLot to Audience: You’ve read all about what Clarence has done, and I think you would all agree with the same. Now let me get the evidence to state the contrary

Exibit A
Gabriel is kindhearted…
SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot: She is foolish 👀
SheReadsaLot: Tomayto, Tomahto
And urges Clarence to make himself available to be bidded upon for a date. After they married, under the condition that Clarence will only ever have one Queen, and can’t have any additional wives or consorts (which is permitted under vampire law). Clarence agreed on this.
So they go on a date. And what does he do?
Audience to SheReadsaLot:

He drinks from the vein, and gives his date a happy ending.
This ends up backfiring as now Clarence’s date thinks she has a claim on Clarence and lets the Queen know that she is on her way out.
BUT don’t fret! Because…

Clarence makes the promise to try his utmost best to never hurt Gabriel like that again.
He will NOT drink from any ones vein who isn’t the love of his life.

Exibit B
He is a “Good Vampire Clarence” conveniently left out that he is already in breach of his covenant. Why might you ask?
GVC has an official consort, a woman he was in love with who wanted her freedom more than she wanted Clarence or to be Queen.
However now that Clarence has a Queen, her interests are back.
And what does GVC do?
Dip his stick in his honey dip, and having a little sip sip… straight from the vein.
WHILE HIS PREGNANT QUEEN IS UPSTAIRS ASLEEP!!

But don’t you worry Gabriel, because…

Exhibit C
Gabriel is standing on business… She has let Clarence know at each and every turn, that two can play that game, and she wants Clarence to show that he is truly all about her.
They are in preparation for their wedding by human law, and of course you should have a bachelor/-ette party right?

GVC imbibes on some drinks, lets some woman dance in his lap.
Gets a lap dance on stage, and you know, why not let your joystick partake as well?
It’s only right, right?
Don’t matter that Niarchos has been trying to steer you clear from walking that path. No, it is needed, let your people see that you are a good King! You share.

SheReadsaLot to GVC: You claim to love Gabriel more than your first Queen, who you never cheated on. But here you are, every time I turn around adding another infraction to the covenant you hold so dear, and on top of that you break your promises, you’re a liar, being hypocritical, and overbearing.
SheReadsaLot to Audience: Just queue up 🎵 Profyle’s Liar 🎵
Gabriel finds out, but she has some secrets of her own as well.
During all the drama..
SheReadsaLot to Audience: And there is a lot. Like I said before, I haven’t even scratched the surface.
Gabriel falls in love, and in bed with Niarchos.
SheReadsaLot to Gabriel: Niece, baby? I don’t blame you, because you told him various times to get his *sh in order, that he didn’t want to listen or believe is not on you!!
SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot: Men get really testerical when the tables are turned don’t they?

But hey!! Gabriel, don’t you worry!
Because..

Exhibit D
So GVC, has already once tampered with Gabriels mind which she didn’t like. And GVC promised that he would NEVER EVER, EVER EVER, EVER, do it again.

And why, did GVC break another one of his promises?
Because..
“…when are any of you going to give a damn about my feelings?”
Vampire Uprising Chronicles: Part II by Mrs. Blk Qween
But hey…

SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot: Please, Please, Please can somebody show me where the good vampire is in the room? ‘Cause I’ve been looking each and every time somebody said that Clarence is a good Vampire/Man, and I…

SheReadsaLot: You know how some people are, blinded by success, thinking being picked by a high-value man...

SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot: What even is a high-value man? Having money? When did we start equating money with being a decent human being?
SheReadsaLot: I agree, AND I think we should table that discussion for another time. Can we just agree?
SheReadsaLot to SheReadsaLot: Yes, we can.
SheReadsaLot to Audience: I am firmly #teamNicky #teamGabriel, because Clarence was just trifling all the way!
Safe to say I’ve been bitten, and need to pick up more of Mrs. Qween’s books!!
Let me round this up right quick, If you decide to pick this meganovel up and want to discuss? Hit me up in the DM’s or contact form. Because this read packs A LOT, A LOT!
Do I Recommend?
